This is a Vintage Vauxhall event, and VSCCA members are invited to attend as a log book event.
Proposed Itinerary
Sunday 3 May
Entrants make their own way to the Monti Pio Mercure Motel in Maitland to overnight with happy hour and dinner.
Monday 4 May
Entrants leave the Motel and via the New England Highway drive to Muswellbrook for morning tea at the Hunter Belle Cheese Factory. Then continue on to Quirindi for lunch at the Rural Heritage Museum. Then continue on to The Commercial Hotel in Curlewis for a comfort stop and cool drink. Continuing on to the Billabong Motel in Gunnedah with a happy hour at the motel and dinner at the Club Gunnedah.
Tuesday 5 May
Drive to the Pensioner’s Lookout to view Gunnedah then on to Mullaley Primary School to display the cars and have morning tea with the pupils. Then drive on to Boggabri for a tour of the cotton gin before having lunch at the R.S.L. Club.
Return to Gunnedah either via Kelvin or the Kamilaroi Highway. Dinner at the Club Gunnedah.
Wednesday 6 May
Meet the Gunnedah Vintage Car Club at the motel and together drive out to Kurrumbede for morning tea and property inspection. Return to the Rural Museum for an inspection and lunch. Dinner possibly at the Golf Club with entrants bused there and back.
Thursday 7 May
Drive up to the Porcupine Lookout to view Gunnedah. Then drive out to Keepit Dam for morning tea and view this magnificent stretch of water. Return to Gunnedah and drive out Emerald Hill community hall for lunch. Drive to Bret and Wendy Backmore’s 2,600-acre property, Emerald Plains, to view the cotton. Then drive back to Gunnedah via the very scenic Quia Road and return to the motel with our final dinner at the Club Gunnedah.
