Help keep historic racing alive!
Pheasant Wood offers our members the opportunity to have a go at historic motorsport or to come along and spectate. To this end, VSCCA member Matt Snape has informed us of two developments of interest to members.
Complimentary entry to VSCCA members and friends
Spectators usually have to pay an entry fee, but the Pheasant Wood organisers have extended an invitation to VSCCA members and friends to attend in their pre 1961 club cars free of charge.
There will be a dedicated parking area for these cars, of particular interest to Southern Highland and Canberra members, close to the track. As it is only 1 ½ hours from Sydney, it may be of interest to others too.
There is also trailer parking for those who wish to attend but avoid the freeway.
Special opportunity for Juniors
There is the opportunity for junior members over the age of 16 years to attend on the Friday with a historic car for a and to participate in their own regularity event (to the exclusion of other cars) on the Saturday and Sunday- all for track walk, scrutineering and supervised practice at a discounted price of $150 per entry for the weekend.
This is the first time such an event has been offered at a historic motorsport event in Australia, and it offers youngsters a chance to try regularity on the track with tuition and plenty of space to learn. There are already three entrants for this junior event, and more are welcome.
What is needed
All that is needed is a pre-1961 historic car that is in roadworthy condition, a helmet, gloves and wool, leather or cotton clothing. There is no requirement for it to be a race car.

LOCATION
Pheasants Wood is located on Jerrara Rd 9km south/west of Marulan Township. Extensive improvements have been made to the site of the former driver training facility to allow uninterrupted views of the entire track from many spectator viewing areas.
MORE INFORMATION
Practice for all groups will commence at 9 am on Saturday.
Racing from 1 pm Saturday and racing for all groups from 9 am Sunday.
Free entry to the pit area to closely inspect the Historic machines will be a feature of the weekend.
