Anzac Day Breakfast, Fagan Park, Dural
Organised by Rex and Nora Vincent
Photos by Jacqui and Eric Taylor. Reports by Rex Vincent and Krystyna Andreoni
Well, they’ve done it again -
Rex and Nora outdid themselves! A wonderful outing, well worth getting out into a day of dubious weather to find it was perfection in every way. The full report and list of participants is below the photos.
Nora you are a wonder, putting on a superb breakfast for all of us to enjoy, on what turned out to be a brilliant day. Feeling sorry for all who missed out on the magnificent feast, 3 types of Quiche, roasted tomatoes with herbs, Delicious sausages - 2 types, bacon, an assortment of fruit and little pastries to round off the sumptuous meal. Coffee and Tea with Anzac biscuits were provided by the volunteer ladies of the farm.
The weather was kind to us, turning out to be perfection. I found myself at a table lingering in conversation with two other Christines, Hurst & Miles, so engrossed in conversation that I forgot to go into the warm-looking cottage open for our viewing.
Richard, however, was drawn in to look at a piano and an organ, of course could not resist doing a fix-it job on two phonographs that were not working … fixed in no time by the man who cannot resist a challenge to make things work properly.
It was a treat to walk amongst the barns filled with old tools and machines. Great scenery wandering along paths to surprising vistas of green rolling hills, a pond, and distant views.
To add to the excitement, there was an aeroplane club off in the distance, we were treated to some fine acrobatics by skilled enthusiasts. Planes flying straight up until the inevitable stall brought them plummeting to the ground and recovering at the last moment into lazy circles certainly had me mesmerised.
A wonderful outing, well worth getting out into a day of dubious weather to find it was perfection in every way, thanks to Nora and Rex Vincent.
